If the screen curved inwards it would 1) fit in your pocket better ie hug your leg or bum in your jeans. 2) keep your finger in contact with the screen. 3) increase viewing angle. 4) Stop surface sratches when placed facedown. 5) decrease thickness but allow iphone to be thicker at edges where camera is mounted (one of the thickest components) 6) facilitate better glasses free 3D. 7) increase strength, curved glass is stronger than flat glass. 8) allow a few more pixels in a smaller size (a curved surface is larger than a flat one in overall width)
