Some questions answered

We have been getting a few questions about the 1 is enough exhibtion. The most common 2 are

1) In iPhoto, how do I ensure my photos are 1000 x 1000 pixels?
2) How do I ensure that my photos are RGB?

we thought rather than reply to you all it would be easier to provide a quick tutorial for everyone

1. How to make your iPhographs 1000 x 1000 pixels in iPhoto

First step is to open iPhoto, select the image you want in the information panel bottom left you will see the images size. Make sure the image you choose is larger than 1000 x 1000 pixels. Then click edit. When the window opens select the crop tool & click constrain square then drag the crop box till your happy with the composition.

Secondly, go to the top and choose file & from the drop down menu select export. when the export window opens make sure your on the file export tab. Where it says kind, select jpeg. Set the quality to maximum. In size, select custom - max - dimension of 1000 px. File name - use file name. Then click export

When the save window opens - name your file eg. iphograph1.jpg

& your done - then email it to us with the info in the submission form

2. As for RGB versus CMYK. RGB (red, green, blue) is used for display on screens etc & CMYK refers to the inks used in printing c = cyan, m = magenta, y = yellow & k is black (they dont use the letter b for black because it may be confused with blue or brown etc).

So chances are if you shot the image on your iPhone (which you must have for this exhibition) & you haven’t edited it in a program like photoshop, your file is in RGB & you need not worry
