It’s begun…
You may have noticed that our posts have slowed a little over the last few weeks, but don’t worry we haven’t forgotten you, quite the opposite.
Ok we admit we have had a bit of slacking at the beach during this hot summer in Australia but it’s not just all fun & games. Apart from testing some fun new apps, we have been putting lots of work into organising the ‘1 is enough’ exhibition - 100 of the best iPhographers (iPhone photographers).
We have been working with our partners & trying to coordinate the exhibition, magazine features & promotion in Australia, Japan & France. It’s fun & exciting & each day we are seeing more of the potential of this project.
It’s been great to see so many people getting behind it & we have been receiving many submissions & sorting them & checking out your websites.
This is such a great opportunity to promote the great work that you the iPhographers are doing
If you want to help support us in this mission, a simple & free way is to tell your friends about the 1 is enough exhibition or to tag your iPhographs or title your galleries & websites with “iPhography” (double check the spelling) This not only helps us promote iPhography but also helps us unite the iPhography as a movement for both amateur & professional iPhographers. Lastly we would hate to see websites that have put so much hard work & time into them be shut down for using Apples trademarked term (iPhone) in their title. Just as what happened in a similar situation for a great website iLounge (check it out, it’s a fantastic site that has a great iPod & iPhone guide for christmas) that was originally called iPodlounge if I remember rightly.
So we would like to say that as of today the 1 is enough exhibition has begun & we have announced our first iPhographer to exhibit. Morgan Miranda is an iPhographer & designer from Toulouse in France. He was selected based not only on iPhography that he submitted but also on the quality of his website.
So don’t forget there is only 99 places left. We already have heaps of submissions but if you know a great iPhographer, then don’t forget to tell them about ‘1 is enough’. We need to get the word out to as many people as possible
Even though the exhibitions are going to be held in Australia, France & Japan, 1 is enough is open to all countries & exhibited online for all the world to see
If you have already submitted your application, then don’t worry you may already be on the short list to be considered
A tip for a better chance to be considered is to avoid cliche’s unless they are exceptional. We are receiving heaps of the same iPhography such as pictures of people looking down at their feet, their children, cats & dogs, peoples shadows as they walk, food, textures (eg bark, rust etc), a billion sunsets & excessive blur & vignettes. We appreciate that iPhography is about spontaneous life recording & that these often comprise of the things that most people do but we would love to see more of a diversity & show a full & dynamic range as well as a little slice of where you come from.
Also please note, we are receiving a lot of submissions that are the wrong format or size or forget to include the correct information. Please read the submission guidelines carefully before submitting
