Happy Birthday

Everyone wants to make a fuss over their first birthday & we’re no different. I & the rest of the iPhography team (friends & just about anyone one we can talk into helping us) have had heaps of fun not only working on this site & helping to promote the worldwide iPhography movement but also having fun with iPhography & discovering apps & accessories etc just like you.

As I have said in the introduction section of this site. “I’m not a blogger, I’m a pasionate iPhographer”. So I’m sending you a large apology for how poor my writing skills are. Our aim is to provide a framework in which the iPhography movement can grow & we hope that in the future this blog is just a small part of that framework

We want to start with the Thank you’s. Thank you to all of our regular readers & happily you now number in the thousands & we hope to continue to help grow the movement. Thank you to our tumblr followers that contribute & reblog our stories, we love that you are helping spread the passion for iPhography.

We have noticed that out info pages alone are gathering more than 50000 hits a month & that doesn’t even include the main blog that people first land on (the most popular section).

We also want to thank the app makers for some of the fantastic apps that you have been creating, without which the imaging capabilities of the iPhone is just a sub par flashless zoomless 3 mp mobile phone camera. Your contribution I’m sure goes noticed by all iPhographers. Thanks Apple (obviously) for the great products that you make, with an attention to detail like no other company I know of. Thanks to the Accessory makers for putting your efforts into enhancing the iPhography experience. Thanks to all the featured iPhographers for taking the time to share you iPhography experiences with the rest of us. Thanks to all of you that send us your iPhography submissions & hint & tips etc.

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing. Our first iPhone was a nightmare to sign up with our mobile network provider. I cant exaggerate enough how painful the experience was & although I would like to pat them on the back for their assistance in getting our second lot of iPhones (3GS) in a much less painful way, the first experience still left a bitter taste in our mouths. Maybe Apple should introduce a quality assurance program from its network distributors?. As much as we love them, Apple hasn’t been an angel either, although their customer service is excellent & friendly the first 3G iPhone OS was soooo buggy, does anyone remember the constant reboots and bricking & complete wipe & restores that meant you lost everything you put into it?? Thankfully future versions of the OS got better and corrected many of the problems, but not without introducing a few others. Also timemachine on the Mac OS now backed up the iPhone back ups.

Now being our birthday I naturally want to write heaps of stuff about our past, present and future. But hey the major thing about iPhography is spontaneous life recording & well… todays weather in Australia is beautiful (to hot for the office) & I’m looking forward to hanging out with some mates & having a beer & celebrating with them.

Wish you were here. The water is soooo warm

Take care, don’t forget to tell your friends about iPhography & I’ll be back real soon in another post to tell you about our super exciting projects

PS Reblog this & help us celebrate our 1st birthday

PPS did anyone notice i managed to get our iPhography icon into the slice of cake in the top picture. oh well I’m patting myself on the back anyway :P
