Today’s Apple media event announced the arrival of iTunes 9.
Some highlights of the update are:
- Genius mixes, described as being almost like a radio station
- Better syncing, the layout & functionality has been improved
- The big one for us is you can now manage, arrange, delete & organise your iPhone’s apps from itunes. A lot better than spending 15 minutes on you iPhone/iPod moving everything around
- Home sharing, you can not only stream music from other computers in your home but you can now also copy songs to & from up to 5 computers making a duplicate in your own library. It will even tell you what songs you don’t have
- The store has been redesigned & cleaned up
- iTunes LP, Where albums have extra features such as artwork, videos, lyrics & more
- Wish list in the store (I like this idea, I can start to collect all of the songs i want & slowly purchase as I can afford)
- Share your likes to Facebook & Twitter. Also If your on Facebook you can become a fan of iTunes page for a few extras
Some other things of interest were:
- The iTunes store now in 23 countries
- 8.5 billion songs downloaded
- Over 100 million user accounts (Apple loves to note all with credit cards, Was this event for stock holders?)
- 30, 000 ringtones now available at $1.29 US
