May 2009s Featured iPhographer - Tony Cece

We found a great website of iPhographer Tony Cece’s called iphonelomo.com & am glad that he has taken the plunge into iPhography. Below is a description of Tony’s iPhography in his own words & a few of his iPhographs.

I started iphonelomo.com after discovering the freedom and creativity that could be expressed through the camera and editing software that are carried with me everywhere on my iPhone. All the photos are shot and edited with software I have purchased for the phone. The type of photos captured are very different from those I shoot with my high end DSLRs, but have a uniqueness in their lack of quality. They are snippets of life that I may not have taken the time to shoot if I were using a nice camera.

It allows me to look at the mundane and uninteresting things of my daily life in a fresh and interesting way. Each and every day there is a new photo on the home page, sometimes more. There are a plethora of great photography apps available that make it fun to produce interesting photos. When combined, the possibilties are only hindered by our imagination or lack thereof.

I believe that photographs say a lot about the person who took them. When you look at a photograph, you get a glimpse of the world through the photographer’s eye. They choose what is in the frame, what is left out, how it is framed, what is in focus, the lens, the type of lighting, and whether it is color or black and white. These are only a few things that the photographer has at their disposal when capturing a moment in time.

For me, photographs are a glimpse into the many different areas of our life here on earth. I see a picture and it starts a collage of images in my mind as I try to understand the people, time, and place that surrounded it. It is this collage that I hope to create when I capture moments of everyday life.

Here are the apps I am currently using:

camerabag
camerakit
chimera
coolfx
photofx
photogene
quadcamera
ileica
tiltshift
toycamera
light
dxp
colorsplash
picoli
freememory
