Basically iPhography is the shortest, most simple way to describe photography & video on iOS devices. We welcome you to also use the term as well (to avoid infringing Apples copyright with terms that contain the words iPhone, iPod, iPad, iPhoto & iOS)
iPhone, iPod & iPad Photography & Video = iPhography
iPhography is one of the longest running sites started on November 19th 2008 & was initially dedicated to iPhone Photography which later grew with the addition of newer iOS devices
- iPhography - The spontaneous life recording & untethered digital artistic creation through the use of iPhographs
eg. “Have you ever thought about getting into iPhography?” - iPhograph - An image or images (video) captured & edited on an iPhone, iPod, iPad or other iOS device
eg. “A new auction world record has been set by an Australian iPhographer for his iPhograph titled ‘idid it iWay’” - iPhographer - A person who uses Apples iPhone/iPod/iPad iOS & 3rd party apps & accessories to create iPhography
eg. “My Mum’s a fanatical iPhographer” - iPhographic - Refers to the technique or equipment to produce an iPhograph or the general style & look of an iPhograph
eg. “I’m shopping for some more iPhographic equipment” or “Check out this iPhographic, it’s beautiful”
Wish List
- We would like to see iMovie turned into a similar set up as iPhoto to store all of you videos as well as edit it & share to the web. Maybe it could even house your video podcasts, purchased moves & TV shows & leave iTunes for music, after all ‘The Matrix’ is not exactly a tune?? We don’t want our videos with our photos & we don’t want our music with our movies. In real life we don’t go to our CD collection to find our photo’s, nor do we open old shoe boxes & dusty albums to find TV shows. Each item should be stored in a more logical place.
- Syncing by Photostream / iCloud is still buggy, I have mine switched off & find plugging in to upload the camera roll to my computer once ever few days far more easy & for extra security I keep multiple harddrive back ups of my photos
- Why can’t we delete pics from our Photostream? When my idiot friend grabs my iPhone whilst in a drunken state to take a picture of his penis, I’d rather not have it perminantly on my phone or transfered to the computer at home or work
- We really want something that we can attach a lanyard to or shock cords that allow it to stretch & reach my ear but not to hit the ground if dropped. Almost every phone up untill the iPhone had one. Millions could enjoy the iPhones beautiful design without an ugly cover because you’d never drop it. We suggest the bottom right hand side (when looking at the screen). Surely Apples habbit of leaving iPhone prototypes in bars, would encourage them to add this feature
- To be able to tag people & add keywords from the iPhone/iPod because its very time consuming & would be great to be able to do it in down time like waiting for a train etc instead of sitting in front of the computer using iPhoto
