First impressions of the iPhone 3GS
It’s taken a long time to do what should have been our first impressions of the iPhone 3GS but we were wanting to give it a thorough testing. As usual we wont go into detail about all features but instead focus on what the new iPhone has changed for iPhographer’s
The easiest way to describe this latest iPhone edition (3GS) is that it’s “2 steps forward & 5 steps...
A Reminder from the 9x16 film festival
9by16: “We are still taking submissions. I’ve seen some good work so far from you guys but I’m selfish and I want more. There are 41 days left to submit your film. Get to it!”
A Blind iPhographer!
“A brain tumor caused professional photographer Alex Dejong to lose his eyesight three years ago. Dejong’s blindness is acute: He can only perceive light and dark.
Because Dejong could not see his own photographs, he hired an assistant for editing. Until recently, editing was a part of the creative workflow that he thought he’d lost forever. And then to his surprise, Apple’s iPhone 3GS,...

July 2009s Featured iPhographer - Josh Mobley
We recently came across musician turned part time iPhographer Josh Mobley. We loved what he was achieving with some of his iPhography & so asked him to join us as our featured iPhographer for July
(Pic: Josh Mobley courtesy of Superchou)
iPhography.com: What got you into iPhography? Josh: It was a fluke actually. A dj at my old recording studio gave me a camera as a gift and I just started...

Come one, come all :)
We have been getting a few emails recently that have been making us smile & we are very thankful for them, but our guess is that they are coming from people who have english as a second language or that our writing is as bad as we know it to be.
The letters have been from people wanting to join the iPhography movement & asking us if they can join. So to clarify…….
The...

The official site for the 9:16 film festival
Story via 9by16:
What is 9:16? At its basic it’s an aspect ratio. It’s certainly tall and it’s a screen size I’ve not considered until Apple added video to the iPhone. There are 2 categories for this online festival. One Shot: It is a video in one shot. Maybe it’s shot on an iPhone 3GS since that is the reason for this format and festival, but it does not have to be. It is one shot no longer than...
Bugs & feedback on the iPhone 3GS
Here is an except of a quick feedback letter we sent to Apple. We felt you might also want to know as it effects iPhographers
These could just be glitches for us but we have been able to replicate them
We have been testing the 3GS.
We discovered 2bugs so far
The app Pano after storing to the camera roll can after going to view it do 2 things. Either stop the camera roll from opening or...
I have that syncing feeling
Ok I know our past posts have been a bit negative but now we have even more reason to be.
One of the items in our previous wish list for the iPhone was to sync bookmarks. Well Apple has at last added the ability to sync book marks without needing a mobile me account. All you need to do is tick sync safari bookmarks in the info section of the iPhone settings & here is what it will...

Confirmed - iPhone 3GS is ringing.... in our ears
We received another iPhone 3GS unit & can confirm to iPhographers that it’s not just the white 3GS, but that also the second black 3GS was also affected, so it’s safe to assume the 3GS in general has a bug that creates a high pitched squeal when saving an iPhograph to the iPhones camera roll
We’re not sure if this is a flaw, or why it’s doing it, but for the moment...
The un boxing of the iPhone 3GS
As mentioned earlier we just received our iPhone 3GS’s from Optus in Australia.
There is 3 main networks here & some minor ones. Optus has the best pricing, but Telstra although almost always dearer than everyone (Strange seeing as they are the biggest) does have a better network. They have a different frequency which has better penetration in more areas. Vodafone is the third & we...
Is Apple getting lost??
Because we are!
Apple.com is recently unaccessible more & more. So getting any info or instructions on setting up the new iPhone is a bit difficult. (FYI we’re trying to access from Australia & yes every other domain works fine)
The new video capabilities of the 3GS would make it fantastic to carry freshly shot videos in your pocket, along with iPhographs & Music to share with...

Our iPhone 3GS has arrived
In the next few posts I will be giving you our impressions of the new iPhone 3GS
But…………. we just had to quickly jump on here to let you know that unless the unit we received is a lemon, the iPhone 3GS makes a high pitched humming sound when saving photos to the phone.
We have a second iPhone 3GS coming in the next few days & will be able to compare the 2 to see if...
